Napoli are scheduled to face AC Milan at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday night in the Serie A 2022-23. The league leaders will look to continue their march towards the league title, which they haven't laid their hands on since the 1989-90 season. On the other hand, AC Milan are having an average season and they are currently going through a lean patch with just two wins in their last six matches in all competitions.
It has been over 30 years and this year it seems to be in Napoli's destiny to reclaim their title by snatching it from defending champions AC Milan. Gli Azzurri have been dominating this season under Luciano Spalletti, both on the European stage and in the domestic competition as they are 19 points clear of the second place Lazio in the Serie A and in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. The forward duo of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Oshimen has been incredible for the Azzurri this season with 28 and 29 goal contributions respectively in all competitions. Unfortunately, striker Victor Oshimen is ruled out for at least two weeks with an adductor injury that he obtained during the international break playing for Nigeria.
The Rossoneri are fourth in the Serie A table, 23 points behind their opponents Napoli and just one point ahead of the fifth placed Roma and will be desperate to keep their place in the top four. If they have to stay in European places, Rafael Leao and Mike Maignan will be the key players as they have been two of their best players this season. The French goalkeeper will need to replicate the form he showed in the international break as the defense has the tendency to leak goals.
