Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar announced the launch of his biopic 'Rawalpindi Express - Running against the odds' on Sunday, July 24. The pacer shared a motion poster on his official social media account of the movie, which is set to release on November 16, 2023.

Shoaib Akhtar took to Twitter and shared a 25-second motion poster of the upcoming film on his life and claimed that this will be the first foreign movie about a Pakistani sportsman. The film is directed by Muhhammad Faraz Qaiser.

Akhtar tweeted, "Beginning of this beautiful journey. Announcing the launch of my story, my life, my Biopic, 'RAWALPINDI EXPRESS - Running against the odds'. You're in for a ride you've never taken before. First foreign film about a Pakistani Sportsman. Controversially yours, Shoaib Akhtar."

Earlier, Akhtar had expressed his longing for Bollywood actor Salman Khan to portray his character in the movie, however, this is yet to be confirmed that who will be portraying the role of the legendary fast bowler.

Akhtar holds the record of the fastest delivery in international cricket with a top speed of 161.3 km/h (100.23 mph). He bowled this delivery during 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup. The 46-year-old pacer has amassed a total of 444 wickets in 214 matches across all formats of international cricket.
