Mumbai skipper Shreyas Iyer hammered a total of 10 sixes to record a blistering 51-ball century in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. Notably, on Saturday, December 21, Mumbai were up against Karnataka at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ground B in Ahmedabad, in another exciting fixture of the tournament. The cricketer, who had a remarkable 2024 with the bat, came up with a solid knock of 114* runs, where he slammed 10 maximums and five boundaries. 

Iyer reached the three-figure mark during the match in just 51 balls and posted a total of 114* runs in just 55 deliveries. Riding in his innings, Mumbai were able to post a mammoth 382 for 4 in 50 overs against their counterparts. It goes without saying that the Mumbai batter had a fantastic 2024. Earlier, he led Kolkata Knight Riders to their third IPL title, followed by Mumbai's title-winning run in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024, by beating Madhya Pradesh in the final.

Shreyas Iyer, who was bought by Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 mega-auction, ensured the franchise fans of a successful edition of the cash-rich league. He told the franchise, “It has been a great year for me personally winning four trophies this season and my main goal will be to win the IPL for Punjab. I can understand the fans’ feelings. But with Ricky coming in, we share a great camaraderie from the past and we would be putting our thinking cap on and brainstorming on many aspects. Hopefully, we will be able to deliver from match one."

He added, “Surreal feeling after winning the SMAT. We have put in a lot of hard work behind the scenes and the boys were tremendous with the performance. Now we are done with this part. Moving on to the next big thing which is the IPL in the coming months. Super excited to be a part of the Punjab Kings. Can’t wait to join the Punjab Kings family."
