Shubman Gill

Indian batter Shubman Gill is hitting the right chords at international stage. The right-handed batter smashed his maiden international hundred after scoring 130 off 97 deliveries in third and final ODI against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club, in Harare. Gill's knock was instrumental for Men in Blue as the visitors notched up yet another whitewash on foreign soil.

Apart from Shubman Gill, Zimbabwe pacer Brad Evans too delivered clinical performance in the match as he picked five-wickets in the game but his efforts went in vain as the hosts bundled out for 276 in 49.3 overs. Gill was awarded Player of the Match for scoring 245 runs in three match ODI series.

Post-match, Evans admitted that Gill's performance was the difference between both the teams and heaped praise on Indian batter for his match-winning performance. "I have watched his game in the IPL and his batting style was a treat to watch. He is such a quality batter and will surely do well for Team India," said Evans. However, Gill acknowledged the good words of Zimbabwe pacer by gifting him the jersey which he wore during the match.

After getting the gift, Brad Evans said that he will cherish the gift from Shubman Gill. In his quest to score maiden hundred in ODI format, the right-hander batter from Punjab registered the highest score by an Indian in an ODI in Zimbabwe.

Gill broke longstanding 24-year-old record of Sachin Tendulkar who scored an unbeaten 127 in Bulawayo way back in 1998. Gill also became the youngest Indian batter with an ODI hundred against Zimbabwe at the age of 22 year 348 days after Mohammed Kaif achieved the same feat at the age of 21 years and 287 days.
