Gujarat Titans opener Shubman Gill named his Team India teammate Virat Kohli as the perfect voice for the Marvel character Venom. Gill was recently named as the Hindi and Punjabi voice for the Indian Spiderman, Pavitr Prabhakar for the upcoming film  Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.


Regarding the new Marvel blockbuster, Gill attended the trailer launch in Mumbai and even struck the iconic Spider-Man pose on a car at the event. During the trailer launch, the cricketer engaged in an intriguing Q&A session, where he was asked about which cricketers could voice other Marvel characters.


Shubman Gill was questioned about which player would fit as the voice for Venom. After much contemplation, he named his idol and former Indian captain Virat Kohli. “Virat Bhai," he said with a smile. Then asked if he had to pick another cricketer to voice the lead version of Spider-Man, Gill named, “Ishan Kishan."


Further speaking about talking about the film, Shubman Gill confessed that Spider-Man is his favourite superhero. “I think it was very exciting, jo bhi maine waha pe kiya. I think Punjabi was a little more fun for me and Hindi was a great experience. Isse pehle maine kabhi dubbing nahi kiya tha but jitna maine socha tha usse bhi zyada exciting nikla. Bahut hi mazza aaya," he said.


Sony Pict ures Entertainment India is set to release ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in 10 languages. These include English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, and Bengali. The film will be released on June 1, 2023, only in Cinemas.
