W ith the Paris Olympics 2024 set to take place in just six months' time, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) has approved requests of several athletes to train abroad. The list includes Asian Games medallists Avinash Sable and Parul Chaudhary, who will travel to Colorado, USA.

Apart from Sable and Chaudhary, who will train at high altitude centre at Colorado Springs, the government has also cleared wrestlers Anshu Malik and Sarita Mor to train in Japan and USA, respectively. Sarita Mor will train at the United States Olympic/Paralympic Training Centre (USOPTC) and train alongside several top grapplers, including Olympics medallists.
Furthermore, Anshu Malik will resume training at Yokohama’s Nippon Sports Science University (NSSU) in Japan. The Indian Sports Ministry has also approved table tennis player Payas Jain, who will train under coach Qiu Jian in Osaka, Japan.
Apart from international training, the Ministry has also approved proposals of Indian para-athlete Sheetal Devi, Sarita and Rakesh Kumar. The trio had requested for procurement of equipment, including compound bows, arrows, sight scales and others, with the government providing all under the Target Olympics Podium Scheme (TOPS).
