The track at the MCA Stadium tends to be a good wicket for batting. However, the spinners are known to play their part as the game progresses and can get it to grip off the surface. So, a similar sort of game like the first T20I can be expected in the second match.
Team India put on a brilliant effort to beat Sri Lanka in a thrilling match at the Wankhede Stadium. After getting an invitation to bat first, India put on 162/5 but it was not as good a batting performance from the Men in Blue. Had Axar Patel and Deepak Hooda not played at a brisk rate in the last six overs, India would have ended at a much lower total. Nevertheless, Hooda, Patel, and Ishan Kishan impressed with the bat. But it was debutant Shivam Mavi who stole the show with his four-wicket haul. The right-arm quick took wickets upfront as well as at the fag end to ensure India stay in the game. Now, the hosts will look to make the necessary amends and take an unassailable lead.

Sri Lanka played like they were expected to. Their spinners dictated the terms early in the innings, but the pacers let the game slip in the death overs. However, batters tried to make game, but the team eventually fell short by two runs. Captain Dasun Shanaka once again led from the front, scoring a quickfire 45. Wanindu Hasaranga too lived up to his role. Chamika Karunaratne also tried his best but a couple of mistakes here and there cost Sri Lanka a much-deserved win. Nevertheless, the Asia Cup champions will pat themselves on the back and will come all guns blazing in the second T20I.
