India registered a thumping win over Sri Lanka in the first ODI of the three-match series. The Rohit Sharma-led team beat Sri Lanka by 67 runs to go 1-0 up. Although it was a comfortable win for India, Sri Lanka put up a fight but a bit too late. Dasun Shanaka once again led the charge, scoring a century. However, Sri Lanka made too many mistakes with the ball and then with the bat as well early on.
Nevertheless, Sri Lanka will look to put this defeat behind them and come prepared for the second ODI scheduled to take place on 12 January.
