Sridharan Sriram joins CSK as assistant bowling coach ahead of IPL 2025

On Monday, February 24, five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) Chennai Super Kings (CSK) secured the services of former India cricketer Sridharan Sriram. The former cricketer will join the Yellow Army as assistant bowling coach ahead of the 2025 edition of the tournament, and will join the likes of coach Stephen Fleming, batting coach Mike Hussey and bowling consultant Eric Simons.

Sriram has been signed as a replacement for former West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo, who was roped by by defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after the conclusion of IPL 2024.

The announcement was made by the franchise on Monday as they took to social media to confirm this update. "Say Yellove to our assistant bowling Coach Sriram Sridharan! ������ Brought up from the tracks of Chepauk to a packed portfolio of coaching tenures in Australia and Bangladesh, he embarks on this new journey with the pride! ���� " the caption read.

Sriram is currently working as a broadcaster with Star Sports Tamil commentary team for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy. At CSK, he will closely work with the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Gopal and Deepak Hooda. Noor Ahmad and Rachin Ravindra will also add to the spin department in the upcoming edition of the IPL.
