Former India cricketer and one of the legends of the game, Sunil Gavaskar’s foundation, ‘The Champs Foundation’ has extended financial aid to former India cricketer Vinod Kambli, who is struggling with health issues lately. It is to be noted that Vinod Kambli, was in limelight after a series of incidents went viral, showcasing his detoriating health.

While he was admitted in December 2024 for a couple of weeks, he was later diagnosed with aurinary infection, thus shifting him to the ICU of the Akruti Health City Hospital in Thane. After getting discharged from the hospital, kambli made his presence at the 50th anniversary celebrations of Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

Sunil Gavaskar’s foundation to provide INR 30,000 per month along with additional expenses: Reports

As stated in the reports, the legend met with Vinod Kambli's doctors the day after meeting the cricketer at Wankhede Stadium during the 50th anniversary celebration. After learning about his health condition, the legendary cricketer instructed foundation to begin providing financial and medical assistance. As per the reports in The Times of India, Kambli will receive INR 30,000 per month starting from April 1.

Additionally, the former Indian cricketer will also get INR 30,000 annually for his medical expenses. However, Gavaskar hasn’t yet opened up on this, his long-time friend and ex-Nirlon teammate Anil Joshi stated, as quoted by CricTracker, "Gavaskar had wanted to help Kambli ever since he learned about his deteriorating health last year. A day after their meeting at Wankhede Stadium, Gavaskar met Kambli's doctors - Dr. Shailesh Thakur and another physician - and me. After being fully briefed on his condition, he instructed the CHAMPS Foundation to immediately begin financial and medical assistance."
