It seems like the ODI format is not suiting Suryakumar Yadav. The No.1 T20I batter in the world is unable to score runs in the format and that too in a World Cup year. While the batter was not getting big scores earlier, he has registered two golden ducks in a row now. As the three-match ODI series is underway between India and Australia, Yadav has been dismissed for a golden duck twice in two games and by the same bowler.

As India took on Australia in the second ODI of the three-match series on Sunday, Mitchell Starc was once again wreaking havoc with his swinging deliveries. The left-arm pacer got rid of four Indian batters in his first spell. But the thing that was baffling for the Indian cricket team fans was two of these four batters falling in the exact same fashion as the last game. While Gill handed a dolly to Marnus Labuschagne at point, Suryakumar Yadav was trapped LBW yet again.

While Gill’s dismissal was not much of a talking point, SKY giving a deja vu to the fans made headlines. Fans as well as experts criticized the batter for not learning from his mistakes and not performing up to expectations. Some also mocked Surya for consistently failing in ODIs. Meanwhile, some suggested bringing Sanju Samson in the playing XI in place of SKY.

Check out the reaction here:

Notably, Surya has managed 123 runs in the last ten ODI innings at an average of 13.6.
