With the T20I leg of England’s white-ball series over with the Suryakumar Yadav-led Team India clinching it by 4-1 margin, the action will now shift to 50-over format. With the Indian squad also seeing some changes in the ODI leg of the series, players like Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube are set to return to domestic circuit.

Furthermore, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) mandating players to play domestic cricket tournaments, like the Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in their recently released 10-point diktat, reports have added that India T20I skipper along with Shivam Dube will return to Mumbai team for the upcoming playoffs.

Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube likely to join Mumbai for Ranji Trophy 2024-25 quarter-finals

With the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 campaign moving to the playoffs stage, the Ajinkya Rahane-led Mumbai team will be boosted by the return of Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Shivam Dube. This development comes after a Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) official confirmed of the duo’s availability.

“Yadav and Dube have informed us that they are available for the quarter-finals. The selection committee will meet soon and pick a squad for the same,” the source said, as quoted by The Indian Express. Notably, Mumbai will take on Haryana in the quarter-final three of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25, starting from February 8 at the Ch Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium in Rohtak.

Speaking of Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian T20I skipper is undoubtedly one of the best T20 batters in India, but did not have a memorable series at home against England. The 34-year-old could manage only 28 runs in five matches, averaging 5.60. On the other hand, Shivam Dube had a decent outing, where he also won the Player of the Match in the fourth T20I in Pune for his 50-plus run knock.
