The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup, currently being played in the USA and Caribbean, is a 20-team tournament, wherein the teams are divided into four groups of five teams each. In the Group A, there are two former champions, namely India and Pakistan, while three other teams include the co-hosts USA, Ireland, and Canada.
In this article, SportsTiger looks at two teams who have the best chance to go through to the Super 8 stage from Group A in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Pakistan
Pakistan have been playing a lot of T20I matches in their recent history, and with that, they managed to build a core group of players, which includes the likes of the captain Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf. The familiarity in their roles for the players in the Pakistan cricket team puts them in a strong position to get the better of the USA, Canada, and Ireland in Group A of the T20 World Cup 2024.
Although their match against the arch-rivals India is expected to be tough, Pakistan can definitely become one of the teams to reach the Super 8 stage of the ongoing tournament with three wins in the group stage.
