Team India's jerseys in T20 World Cups

India’s team kit sponsor Adidas revealed its official jersey for the T2 0 World Cup 2024 on Monday, May 6. The new kit is the upgrade of the team’s T20I jersey, which the team has been wearing since Adidas became their official sponsor. Team India's jerseys for the global cricketing tournament have evolved over the years, changing colours, patterns, sleeves, logos and other elements. Team India's jerseys in T20 World Cups While the new kit is definitely a feast for the eyes, in this article, we will have a look at the jerseys the team has worn in the past editions of the marquee tournament. 2007 World Cup India won the 2007, inaugural season of the T20 World Cup, and during the edition, the team donned a pale blue coloured kits. The jerseys had the tri-colour on the ride side with India written across the middle in yellow. The logo of the official sponsors was on the sleeves. #PAGE_BREAK# 2009 World Cup In the second edition of the tournament, the jersey transitioned from light blue colour to dark blue. The pattern of the tri-colour also changed a bit and had India written across the chest in Orange. Apart from this, the jersey had BCCI’s logo on the left and Nike (official sponsor’s logo) on the right. #PAGE_BREAK# 2010 World Cup There weren’t significant changes in the 2010 jersey of the Indian team, just the colour transitioned to a darker shade with orange collars. #PAGE_BREAK# 2012 World Cup In the fourth edition of the tournament, the team wore the same jerseys they had worn for the ODI World Cup 2011, considering it lucky for them. #PAGE_BREAK# 2014 World Cup The 2007 winners went for a slightly different design with a different shade of blue. The jersey had tri-colour patterns on both sleeves with India written in orange across the front. BCCI’s logo was on the left while Nike’s logo was on the right. #PAGE_BREAK# 2016 World Cup The official kit for this particular edition probably had the most unique design. It was designed in a combination of blue and reddish patterns with a blue band collar. The jersey had the official sponsors’ logo just above India embellished on the front with BCCI’s logo on the upper left. #PAGE_BREAK# 2021 World Cup The official kit for the 2021 edition of the tournament was named ‘Billion Cheers Jersey’ for the unique wave-like patterns. The jersey was designed in light and dark blue patterns with the title sponsors’ logo across the front and another sponsor’s logo on the right. The collar of the jerseys was blue with an orange design. Apart from that, the patterns on the jersey represented Indian fans’ support of the squad. #PAGE_BREAK# 2022 World Cup In the 2022 edition, the jersey went for a light and dark blue transition with zig-zag patterns. The kits had the title sponsor's log on the front, just above India written across the chest. On the left of the collar, it had BCCI's logo with three stars, and on the right, the jerseys had another sponsors' logos. 2024 World Cup In the 2024 season of the T20 World Cup, Team India will wear Adidas-designed kits, in light blue colour, with orange sleeves. Similar to past editions, the title sponsors are placed across the chest, just above India. Adidas' logo is placed on the right, while BCCI's logo rests on the left with one star, the number of T20 World Cup titles won by India. The collars are designed in tri-colour pattern, resembling the Indian flag and Adidas' signature strips are on the shoulders, finishing right above the sleeves.
