The very first trophy that Vidarbha picked in the elite domestic cricket competition was back in the 2017-18 season. This was a time where noted captain Faiz Fazal, the 39-year-old cricketer born in Nagpur, someone with over 9,000 first-class runs to his name, helped the team lift its maiden title.
