Arne Slot, the Liverpool manager, stated that his team has to fulfill the “big responsibility” of securing the 20th English top-flight title at Anfield on Sunday, April 27 in a Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur. The Merseyside club need to earn just one point to win the Premier League with five matches remaining in the season, and with that, the pressure is on the players to deliver the goods in front of their fans in one of the most important fixtures for them in recent memory.

Notably, the previous English top-flight title for Liverpool came in the 2019-20 season after more than 30 years under their former manager Jurgen Klopp, but since the fans weren’t allowed in the stadiums due to COVID-19 pandemic, they could quite celebrate it. But now, with their Premier League well within their grasp once again, the fans would like to enjoy the winning moment in style at their home stadium, and the opportunity has now presented itself this weekend.

We are aware that the last time this club won the league it was COVID time: Arne Slot

That’s why Liverpool manager Arne Slot has categorically spoken about how his team needs to produce their best performance against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on the weekend in the Premier League, to earn at least a point. He was quoted as saying, as per BBC Sport, “First of all, that's a big responsibility because we are aware that the last time this club won the league it was COVID time so everybody is looking forward to Sunday but we know that there is still a job to be done and that's at least one point.”

“That's what we know and, hopefully, our fans know as well and they support us in the best possible way they can - like they have all season - and are aware of the fact that we still need a point. We are definitely aware of that. It's a nice game to look forward to but it's also a responsibility we have for Sunday,” added Arne Slot, who is aiming to become the second manager after Jurgen Klopp to take Liverpool to Premier League glory.
