Australia captain Pat Cummins responded to a question from PTI on his leadership while launching his book 'Tested: The Remarkable Power Of Resolve.' The Aussie veteran, who picked up an ankle injury during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, isn’t a part of his team’s Champions Trophy 2025 squad which gave him some time to promote his book. Cummins became the 47th captain of his national side in 2021 and his stint is now marked with massive achievements such as the World Test Championship (WTC) win, which came in 2023 and ODI World Cup 2023 victory. Recently, he also guided his team to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 triumph.

The veteran also took the role of an interviewer to have a conversation with 11 achievers-cum-leaders who appeared from all over the globe to attend the launch of his book published by Harper Collins. Responding to PTI on his captaincy, Cummins said, “The best leaders I've played under always made me feel empowered, brought the best out of myself and made me feel a sense of freedom. I think it's important to lean into the individual strengths of each team member rather than trying to make everyone assimilate."

Cummins will look to be fit before WTC Final 2025

Pat Cummins will strive to gain complete fitness before the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 Final, set to be played from June 11 to 15 at the iconic Lord’s. The Sunrisers will start their campaign against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Playing his debut season for the Orange Army in 2023, Cummins looked extraordinary with the ball and claimed 18 wickets in 16 matches.
