After losing their opening match of the tournament to Birmingham Phoenix, the London Spirit's first home match was abandoned due to rain against the Oval Invincibles and with just a point against their name so far, they would be keen on getting a win to get some momentum moving forward. On the other hand, Trent Rockets have already bagged two wins from two matches with their last win coming in the form a thrilling two-wicket victory over Northern Superchargers. Interesting game lined up on the cards then from this brand new 100-ball cricket tournament.

Key Players:

Ahead of the match, London Spirit will be thinking what changes to make as top order batters Zak Crawley and Dan Lawrence have both been called up for the England Test duty ahead of the five-match Test series against India. They are set to miss not only the match but the remaining part of the competition. While Middlesex's Jack Cacknell has been brought in as a replacement, Luis Reece may be added into the team after missing out on selection in the first two matches. As far as the Rockets are concerned, Alex Hales was the star performer with the bat as he dug around while wickets fell around him. In addition, fast bowler Marchant de Lange has also been in great form taking eight wickets in two matches.

Alex Hales was the hero for the Rockets, the opener digging in whilst wickets fell all around him, before finding the ideal partner with the bat in spin-bowling Neil Carter who had already picked up two wickets in an excellent spell with the ball, whilst fast bowler Marchant de Lange will be hoping to build on his outstanding start to the Hundred so far, having taken eight wickets across his two games played so far. Meanwhile, Joe Root back into the Test team, Sussex T20 captain Luke Wright is likely to come into the side. Steven Mullaney will not be available as he is currently isolating after he came in close contact with coach Andy Flower and a couple of other staff members who tested positive for COVID-19.
