Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has issued a scathing response to a clickbait X post wherein he was accused of not following through with aid for people affected by the Maui fires. He spoke about the reason for getting booed during a WWE event before revealing that $50 million in aid has been delivered to over 8,000 Maui fire survivors.

The WWE and Hollywood megastar was accused by an X user named Nick Sortor (@nicksortor) of getting booed by the crowd in Las Vegas, who demanded that he follow through with aid for Maui in tens of millions. But, as The Rock stated in his response, he was booed during the WWE WrestleMania 40 press event because of portraying a “heel” character, which is a wrestling parlance of a bad guy.

At the beginning of his post on the official X account, The Rock spoke about how he typically refrains from “responding to toxic, false clickbait garbage,” but for this time, he did it because of the tragic events of Hawaii being used to accuse him. After clarifying the reason for getting heat during a WWE event, he confirmed that the People’s Fund of Maui has delivered millions of dollars of aid to thousands of Maui fire survivors in the last few months.

The People’s Champion also fired back at his accuser by saying, “Nick, instead of posting bullshit like this that you know is false - I encourage you to post something positive for Hawaii, for our Polynesian American people. Or actually take positive action and come to Hawaii to help out in an uplifting way.”

Finally, The Rock sent out a message for the millions of users on X to utilise the online platforms in a positive way to impact the lives of others. He wrote, “Let’s put our energy and our online platforms into lifting people up. Acknowledging the good things that people do. Raising awareness for the suffering in ways that can effectively help. It takes so much effort to be negative, and create and spread bullshit - but when you spread positivity, kindness, and lead by example you can really impact lives.”
