Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni gave a quirky response when he was asked about his retirement at a CSK event ahead of their clash against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. At the age of 41, Dhoni is certainly in the twilight of his IPL career, especially after announcing his retirement from international cricket in 2020.

Hence, there has been a lot of speculation that this would be Dhoni’s final IPL season with multiple reports surfacing on a regular basis. Similarly, in a recent team event, Dhoni was asked a question about his retirement plans, he stated that his current focus is on the coming games.

Further in his retort, Dhoni jokingly expressed that his decision will put a lot of pressure on CSK coach Stephen Fleming. He said, "There's lot of time to take that call (Retirement). Right now we have a lot of games and the coach will be under pressure if I say something."

In the ongoing IPL campaign, MS Dhoni has in many ways managed to turn back time as he brought back his vintage six-hitting ability.  Barring the game against Mumbai Indians, Captain Cool was seen wielding his bat and smashing big sixes.

So far, Dhoni has been batting a strike rate of 214.81, scoring 58 runs in 27 balls he faced in the tournament. With MS Dhoni’s continued fireworks, the Chennai Super Kings are placed in the middle of the table in the sixth spot with two wins and two losses.
