P akistan batter Ahmad Shahzad extended his support to former Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Virat Kohli after the latter hit the first century of IPL 2024. Kohli came up with a masterclass in RCB’s last match against Rajasthan Royals and hammered an unbeaten 113 off 72 deliveries, combined with 12 fours and four maximums. This was Kohli’s eighth century in the IPL, and he is currently leading the orange-cap race with 316 runs at a brilliant average of 105.33 in five matches.
Before the onset of the tournament, Kohli grabbed headlines over his potential exclusion from India’s squad in the T20 World Cup 2024. Earlier in the tournament, Kohli smashed 77 runs off 49 deliveries and silenced his critics who were questioning his inclusion in the upcoming tournament.

The Pakistan batter extended his support to the former RCB skipper and questioned his potential exclusion from India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. After RCB’s clash against Rajasthan Royals, Shahzad took to X to support the Indian batting icon and took a jibe at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Ahmed tweeted, “And you are thinking Virat Kohli is Done. Think wisely. BCCI.” Notably, in the clash against Rajasthan Royals, Kohli crossed the 7500-run mark. Taking about his records in the T20 World Cup, Kohli has aggregated a total of 1141 runs from 27 matches, which includes 14 half-centuries and an average of 81.5.
