Thomas Partey will depart from Arsenal as his contract with the Gunners expires today, on June 30. He will be leaving as a free agent and any club can make a move for him as he is ready for the next part of his journey leaving the Emirates. He joined Arsenal in the year 2020 from Atletico Madrid in a transfer worth €50 million, thus becoming the most expensive Ghanaian player of all time.

The defensive midfielder has played a pivotal role in the team since he joined, anchoring the midfield and playing according to the manager’s plans. However, injuries have been a major concern for Partey and despite his good deeds he couldn't manage to stay consistent all the time which led to his spot being in danger in the starting lineup of Arsenal. His technicality and ability to score bangers from long ranges have been key to Arsenal’s successes in the previous seasons.

Partey likely to start a new journey at a new club

Some of the Arsenal fans are left in grief as the club couldn't manage to agree a new deal with the Ghanaian international. With Partey set to leave Arsenal, many Saudi clubs are interested in signing him in the upcoming transfer window which could mean that Partey will no longer be seen playing in Europe. Some reports also suggest that teams like Juventus and Fenerbahce are interested in signing Partey.

Arsenal have already started looking at potential candidates that can replace Thomas Partey and strengthen the team in order to be title contenders in the upcoming season. Arsenal have reportedly made the signing of Christian Norgaard from Brentford, who is a Premier League proven player and are also reportedly interested in signing the likes of the Spanish International Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in order to bolster their midfield for the upcoming season.
