The two-day Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) auction has come to an end. This was the league's first-ever players’ auction which saw a total of 942 players go under the hammer ahead of the seventh edition. The auction was conducted in the city of Mahabalipuram, Chennai.

The auction saw players divided across four categories with Category A comprising of Tamil Nadu players who have played international games (INR 10 Lakh), Category B, which comprised of players who represented senior BCCI domestic matches (INR 6 Lakh), Category C which consisted of players who are not in Category A or B but have played more than 30 TNPL matches (INR 3 Lakh) and Category D which comprised of other players (INR 1.50 Lakh).
The process included a total bid of INR 70 Lakh for each franchise with the teams retaining a maximum of two players, one in category A or B and the other from Category C or D, keeping in mind the squad strength of a minimum of 16 players and a maximum of 20.
