India's Ravi Dahiya became the second wrestler from the country to clash for the gold at the Olympic Games. Dahiya came out on top, defeating Nurislam Sanayev of Kazakhstan despite trailing 2-9 in the semi-final. The fourth-seeded Indian won the game with a fall, attacking his rival with a double leg attack.

With this, Ravi Dahiya became the fifth Indian wrestler after KD Jadhav, Sushil Kumar, Yogeshwar and Sakshi Malik to win an Olympic medal.

If Ravi is able to clinch a gold, he will become the first Indian wrestler to win a gold at the Olympics and also the second individual Olympic gold medalist for the country after Abhinav Bindra.
