The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is known as one of the most premier pro-wrestling companies in the world, delivering weekly programming for decades, which brings about a lot of rumors on a regular basis online. While there might be some merit to the rumors, whether in WWE or other sports, they are far from factual information until proven right.

This is the reason why the fans of WWE should check them out, but not believe in them outright, especially at the expense of diluting their experience of watching the weekly programming. Regardless, SportsTiger will look back at the top WWE rumors of the week below for the fans to get their teeth in.

Top WWE Rumors of the Week

  • As per the report from WRKD Wrestling, John Cena’s final opponent is currently scheduled to be Gunther in December on his ongoing retirement tour in WWE.

  • PW Insider spoke against the idea involving Seth Rollins’ knee injury, which happened during Saturday Night’s Main Event, being a work, calling it disrespectful to the WWE superstar.

  • Just a couple of days later, Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer got told by multiple sources that Seth Rollins’ knee injury is indeed a work, but he has a “very minor” problem which won’t keep him out for long. And that’s why, WWE wants to ensure that he cashes-in his Money in the Bank (MITB) contract “early” in a big surprise.

  • According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original plan of WWE is to have Seth Rollins cash-in his MITB contract on CM Punk after the latter wins the World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther on night one of SummerSlam PLE, but it isn’t scrapped yet.

  • Fightful Select revealed that WWE officials told them that they didn’t cut off the retirement speech of Goldberg intentionally or with malicious intent as claimed by him, and it happened because they didn’t have any time remaining in the live broadcast of the Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC.

  • Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select indicated that WWE wanted to schedule Goldberg’s retirement match on the same weekend as AEW All In in Texas rather than sending him off properly.
