The match number 15 of IPL 2021 produced another thrilling contest at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. Though Chennai Super Kings eventually won the game by 18 runs, it kept the fans on the edge of their seats until the last over of the game.
After being asked to bat first, Chennai Super Kings put up a mammoth total of 220/3 after the end of 20 overs. The CSK openers looked in scintillating touch as Faf du Plessis (95* off 60) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (64 off 42) completely destroyed the KKR bowlers. MS Dhoni also played a nice cameo towards the end, much to the delight of all cricket fans.
In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders looked completely out of the game after going down 31/5, courtesy Deepak Chahar's brilliant opening spell. With the game almost over, Andre Russell (54 off 22) put on a destructive show in Mumbai before losing his wicket to Sam Curran in the most unbelievable manner. Late blitz from Dinesh Karthik (40 off 24) and Pat Cummins (66* off 33) was just not enough as KKR fell short by 18 runs.
While KKR could not produce the magical finishing touches, it was enough for Twitter to go berserk as the netizens had one of the best days in the office. The fans produced some crazy memes to reflect on this entertaining encounter.
