Mumbai Indians (MI) vice-captain Suryakumar Yadav posted an Instagram story on MS Dhoni and Shivam Dube’s partnership for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. In the 30th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Chennai clinched a five-wicket win against LSG, riding on the unbeaten 57-run stand between Dube and Dhoni for the sixth wicket. Dhoni flexed his muscle and produced an incredible knock of 26 off just 11. The veteran’s batting effort also got him the player of the match (POTM) award. Dube, who entered the match as an Impact Player, stood at the crease until the end and scored an unbeaten 43 off 37.
After CSK’s win, MI star batter Suryakumar took to Instagram and posted an image of Dhoni and Dube batting in the match against LSG. The 34-year-old story read, "Mahi bhai- Strike dega toh tum bana lega? Dube - Try kar lenge. Mahi bhai - Try karna hai toh hum hi kar lete hai. Tum bas runout mat karwa dena.” The line Suryakumar wrote is a famous dialogue from MS Dhoni's biopic, 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.
MI to clash against SRH in Mumbai on April 17
MI, who won their previous game against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the competition, will host Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on April 17. SRH scripted history in their last match, chasing down a massive target of 246 runs against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Hyderabad. It was the second-most successful run-chase in the history of the league.
In the crucial game, openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head stepped up for SRH to help their team pull off the gigantic target. Abhishek notched up an unbeaten 141 off 55 and entered the record books as the batter with the third-highest individual score in the league.
