The legendary wicket-keeper batsman, MS Dhoni passed on the baton of Chennai Super Kings to all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja ahead of the IPL 2022 season. It also meant he will play more positively, and thereby helping the team to get a fine finish in the back-end of the innings. That is exactly what has happened in CSK's first two matches of IPL 2022.
The IPL 2022 opener saw MS Dhoni at his very best with his composure to build the innings and provide lusty blows to score a half-century and steer the team to a respectable total. In the second fixture against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Dhoni came in the 19th over and hit a six on his very first ball through the deep cover boundary. In the next ball, he was intelligent to open his face of the bat to hit a boundary. Then, Dhoni hit a four off the last ball to steer the team to a total of 210.
With his innings of 16* off 6, Dhoni completed his 7000 runs in T20 cricket as well. The Cricket Twitter, and especially CSK fans shared their reaction on Twitter after a quickfire knock of the former captain of CSK team.
