The match no. 22 of PSL 2021 produced some breathtaking cricket action in Abu Dhabi on Monday night. Some high-quality batting was on display as more than 380 runs were scored in the match. In the end, United completed a remarkable chase to win their 6th match of the season.
It was Babar Azam's show once again as the charismatic batsman went on to play an unbelievable knock of 81 runs off 54 deliveries. He was well supported by Najibullah Zadran (71* off 42) as the duo added 117 runs for the third wicket. Karachi Kings went on to post a competitive total of 190/4 in 20 overs and set it up perfectly for an exciting second innings.
In reply, Islamabad United seemed to have lost their way early in the chase and were once struggling at 41/2 in 5.3 overs. However, Colin Munro and Iftikhar Ahmed joined hands and got their side back into the contest. In the end, United completed the victory quite comfortable in 18.4 overs with 8 wickets remaining.
As the match ended quite late, the fans had to be awake to enjoy the blockbuster contest. While some people hailed Babar Azam for his heroic knock, the others praised the duo of Colin Munro (88* off 56) and Iftikhar Ahmed (71* off 39) for their match-winning partnership.
