Although there is huge pressure in sports to retire after reaching a particular age as it becomes harder and harder to cope up with the fitness demands of playing professionally, there are always some exceptions. Roger Federer is going strong at 39, Cristiano Ronaldo is working like a beast to keep himself fit at 36, James Anderson bowled a dream spell in Indian conditions on his last tour to India at 38 but all-rounder Darren Stevens is producing praiseworthy performances well into his 40s.

He remains one of the oldest serving cricketers and has been in the team since he has been delivering at the first-class level for various Counties. And now in the ongoing match against Glamorgan playing for Kent, it was his innings with the bat that has forced people to stop whatever they were doing and take notice. Steven scored 190 from 149 deliveries, adding 166 runs for the 9th wicket with his partner Miguel Cummins contributing just 1 run in that stand.

His amazing innings, which saw him score 15 fours and 15 sixes, has helped Kent reach a solid first-innings score of 307. Social media couldn't keep calm after Darren Stevens' effort and here are some of the things that netizens had to say after his heroic effort.
