2 April 2011 is a day etched in the memory of Indian cricket fans. It was on this day that Team India defeated Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in the finals of the ICC World Cup to emerge as World Champions. On the 10-year anniversary of the incredible achievement, reactions have been pouring in on Twitter. Fans as well as former cricketers are remembering the achievement. While Gautam Gambhir was Team India's highest scorer with 97, MS Dhoni made a memorable unbeaten 91, finishing the game with a six that marked the beginning of the celebrations of the entire nation.
Cricket great Sachin Tendulkar finally lifted a World Cup trophy in his sixth and last attempt and was carried on the shoulders by the team for a lap around his home ground. Yuvraj Singh, who later revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer during the tournament, ended up being the Player of the Tournament and Zaheer Khan picked the joint-most wickets in the competition, making an impact every time he was brought into the attack by MS Dhoni.
