South Africa spinner Tabraiz Shamsi’s shoe-phone celebration against Pakistan in the first T20I is trending across platforms on social media. The left-arm chinaman finished with figures of 2 for 29 in the first T20I even as the hosts faced a 4-wicket defeat in the first T20I.

While South Africa had batted first and scored 188/6 in the match, Mohammad Rizwan’s unbeaten 74 from 50 balls guided the Asian team to a win with a ball remaining. After a defeat in the ODI series, a loss in the first T20I means there are not too many positives for the Proteas but even then it is Shamsi’s celebration which is under the limelight of Twitterati. Notably, the 31-year-old took off his shoe and held it near his ear pretending to call someone each time he took a wicket. However, the 31-year-old clarified that the celebration is just a fun thing. He further added that this celebration means no disrespect to the opposition side.

After the match, Shami shared another video with the same celebration along with Mohammad Hafeez, congratulating the latter for his 100th T20I cap.
