It was a dominating performance by Gujarat Titans on Thursday evening against Rajasthan Royals as they beat the 2008 champions by 37 runs. Asked to bat first, Gujarat set a 193-run target for Rajasthan on the back of some fine batting performances from their captain Hardik Pandya, Abhinav Manohar, and David Miller. Pandya scored an unbeaten 87 off 52 balls to power GT to their highest total this season.
Rajasthan tried to compensate for the extra runs conceded as Jos Buttler hit a quickfire half-century in just 23 balls. But Buttler looked like the lone warrior as no other batter showed promise. Lockie Ferguson stole the show in bowling as he ended the game with a bowling figure of 4-0-23-3. Debutant Yash Dayal also chipped in with three wickets. He was a bit expensive though.
Overall, it was a complete performance for Gujarat as their registered their fifth win of the season. Hardik Pandya led his team from the front as apart from scoring a brilliant half-century, he also took a wicket, and sent back Sanju Samson with a bullet throw. As the game progressed, Twitter users shared their emotions.
