Croatia is coming off an inspiring world cup campaign where their aging squad wasn’t expected to go as far as they did as they lost to eventual winners Argentina in the semifinal. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Wales last week and will be looking to improve their performance. Their midfield is the key as it’s their strongest asset. The trio of Luka Modric, Mateo Kovacic, and Marcelo Brozovic can be dangerous for any opposition. They face a stern opponent in Turkey which they would be determined to beat.

Turkey would be disappointed by their World cup campaign as they were pegged to be the dark horses going into the world cup. They crashed out in the group stages and will be looking to make some changes. Their country is also in a bit of trouble as an earthquake has wreaked  havoc. Football can give people hope in such a situation. They have started their campaign well with a win against their regional rivals Armenia and will look to build from there. Enes Unai, the in-form Getafe striker will be a key player for Turkey as he is in great form. He has 6 goals in his last four La Liga games before the break.

Head To Head:

Croatia and Turkey have faced each other 10 times and the Vatreni won thrice while the latter won twice as five games resulted in draws.
