Former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira will take on the likes of Russian MMA fighter Islam Makhachev on October 22 for the 155-pound belt at the Etihad Arena. Ahead of the UFC fight against Oliveira, Makhachev has made an interesting claim on his official social media account.

The Brazilian has maintained a 33-8 record in UFC, while Makhachev has achieved a 22-1 record under his name with his only loss came through knockout against Adriano Martins in October 2015 at UFC 192.

As soon as UFC tweeted a picture of the two fighters confirming their fight for the lightweight title, the Russian took to his official Twitter handle to retweet the post and captioned, "October 22, I’m bringing UFC Lightweight Belt back to Dagestan Inshallah."

Oliveira confidently asserted to beat Makhachev and told Ag Fight, "I'll beat him. Who knows, maybe you [Nurmagomedov] come of retirement and come too? Each one says what they want."

"I am the division’s problem. I have some of the best jiu-jitsu in the division and in the UFC. I think these guys are talking too much. They want to get in my mind, but that’s not possible. And if it’s to talk, I’m going to say it; I’ll beat Islam Makhachev and then challenge Khabib to come back from retirement," he added.
