After losing their opening two Women's Premier League 2024 clashes against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals respectively, Alyssa Healy's UP Warriorz went on to register back-to-back wins in their next two fixtures. The Warriorz defeated Gujarat Giants by six wickets with 26 balls remaining at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday.

The Warriorz won the toss and invited the Giants to bat first. The UPW restricted Beth Mooney's GG at 142 runs and chased down the target in 15.4 overs as Grace Harris scored an unbeaten 60-off-33 while Sophie Ecclestone picked three wickets for UP.

Warriorz's Sophie Ecclestone and Chamari Athapaththu were spectacular with the ball as the former picked three wickets at a 5 run per over economy while the Sri Lankan failed to pick a wicket but kept the pressure on the opposition as she gave just 19 runs in her four-over spell.

For the Giants, Phoebe Litchfield (35-off-26) scored the most runs followed by  Ashleigh Gardner's 30 runs in 17 balls with four boundaries and a six. While chasing the target, skipper Healy and opener Kiran Navgire opened the innings on a high note while  Grace Harris finished the job with her berserk performance to help the UP Warriorz reach the third spot in the WPL 2024 standings.
