Falcon Risers Hyderabad (FRH) have reached the playoffs of the second ISPL season, riding on Vicky Bhoir’s sensational bowling spell against Tigers Of Kolkata (TOK). Bhoir launched his onslaught with the ball in the second over of Kolkata, who were chasing 63 off 10 overs. The bowler claimed Sarfaraz Khan’s scalp to build pressure on the opponents. Following Sarfaraz, Moyoddin Alimuddin Shaikh got run out and left his side in trouble. Bhoir displayed his ruthless side in his second over again.
This time, he trapped Subhajit Jana Dhoni and Vivek Mohanan on consecutive deliveries. Bhoir dismissed Firas Mohammed and concluded his two-over spell with scintillating 4/6 figures. Bhoir’s disciplined bowling show helped Hyderabad contain Kolkata on 61 in 10 overs and clinch a one-run win.
Earlier, Kolkata won the toss and invited Hyderabad to bat first. The Sambhaji Patil-led side lost Padmesh Mhatre (two off five) early in the third over, but Kisan Satpute showed nerves of steel and stood up as a lone warrior in the batting line-up to help his side put up a decent total on the board. His quick 34-run knock off just 21 balls was studded with six boundaries (five fours and a maximum). Except for Satpute, no batters could score in double digits.
The one-run win has booked Hyderabad’s ticket to the knockouts of the ISPL 2025. With five wins and three losses in eight matches, Hyderabad are in the second position on the points tally, following Majhi Mumbai, who have won eight of their nine contests.
Shivam Kumar’s bowling heroics help TOK hammer Chennai Singhams
After failing the Hyderabad challenge, TOK made a comeback with a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over Chennai Singhams earlier today. Bowling first after winning the toss, TOK put immense pressure on Chennai as Shivam Kumar showed his formidable side and bagged 4/12 figures in his two-over spell.
Chennai completed their 10 overs and posted 65/7 riding on Sumeet Dhekale’s 31 off 17. However, the target didn’t trouble TOK as Thomas Diaz (30 off 16) and Fardeen Kazi (23 off 15) took Chennai’s bowling attack to the cleaners and handed their side a nine-wicket win.
