Star India batter and former skipper of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli on Monday, May 12 announced retirement from Test cricket. His decision came just days after Team India skipper, Rohit Sharma pulled down curtains to his Test career, after speculations hit the roof, following series of dismal performances in the past few months.
Taking to X/Instagram, Virat Kohli shared an elaborated post which read, “As I step away from this format, it’s not easy — but it feels right. I’ve given it everything I had, and it’s given me back so much more than I could’ve hoped for."
Notably, this decision by Kohli comes after reports surfaced earlier in the day stating that the veteran India cricketer has communicated his desire to retire from test cricket to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ahead of the upcoming five-match Test series against England, scheduled to start from June 20.
