Virat Kohli joins fellow sports superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi in Twitter’s exclusive GOAT (Greatest of all time) club. Every time, a user posts with  “#ViratKohli’, a goat’s symbol will be added after his name. The 21-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal and two footballing maestros Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the other two in the club.

Ever since the emoticon was discovered by the Netizens, the Twitter trending page has been topped by the mentions of Virat Kohli. Another Indian in this club alongside Kohli is Telugu actor Prabhas.

The 33-year old has been the backbone of Indian cricket ever since he made his international senior team debut after winning the Under-19 World Cup. Virat had an uncharacteristic start but soon got on track and went on to become one of the most prolific batters in cricketing history. He has had historic knocks all around the world where he has won games from near-impossible situations.

As Kohli’s cricketing game improved he also emerged into a world-class athlete after a physical transformation in 2012. Ever since then he has been an unstoppable force in the cricketing world as he averages fifty-plus in all formats and is probably the only player who could beat Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 hundred.

Similarly, he has won many individual accolades like the ICC Men's Cricketer of the Decade (2011–2020) award; Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy (ICC Cricketer of the Year) in 2017 and 2018; ICC Test Player of the Year in 2018; ICC ODI Player of the Year in 2012, 2017, 2018.

He has also been one of India’s greatest captains with a win percentage of 68.4%. Under his leadership, the Indian cricket team has managed to script historical triumphs like the test series victory in Australia, defeating England in Lords after seven years and many more.

Virat Kohli after a decent performance in the West Indies tour was allowed to exit the bio-bubble for the third T20 game. Simultaneously he will be rested in the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. India wicketkeeper Rishab Pant was rested in the third T20 and like Kohli, he will also be rested during the Sri Lanka tour of three T20s and two test matches.
