The continental cricketing spectacle has been constantly marred by rains in Sri Lanka, which is expected to continue as per the weather forecast on finals day. If the summit clash of the Asia Cup 2023 gets washed out due to adverse weather conditions on September 17, then it will continue from the point the play was called off, on September 18, the reserve day.

In the build-up to the final, Virat Kohli was at a fitness centre with Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Shami, preparing for the challenge that lies ahead in the heat and humidity of Colombo. While his teammates walked out of the building without many cheers, Virat Kohli got mobbed instantly by the fans, who were looking for a precious selfie with him.
