The Indian cricket team has gone through a lot since their 1-3 defeat against Australia in the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 early this year. After the result not going in their favour, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also took a few stringent steps as they issued a 10-point diktat.

In one of these points, the BCCI also restricted players to carry personal chefs on tours. This step has seen star Indian batter Virat Kohli take a new move as he reportedly was seen ordering food from outside to keep his diet under control and check.

Virat Kohli gets food deivered in Dubai after BCCI issues 10-point diktat denying no personal chefs: Reports

According to a report in the Times of India, Kohli preferred to order a food packet soon after reaching the training venue in Dubai. While personal chefs have been disallowed by the BCCI, the talismanic Indian batter found another way to meet his needs on overseas tours. If reports are to believed, Kohli is said to have spoken to a local team manager at the venue.

The report also added, "It had had few boxes of Kohli's post-session meal. While the others packed their kit bags, Kohli was refueling and even saved a box for the road." As per stated in the 10-point diktat, "Players can no longer bring personal staff like chefs, security guards, or assistants on tours unless explicitly approved by the BCCI."

Speaking of India’s campaign, Virat Kohli will be seen in action as India takes on Bangladesh in their Champions Trophy 2025 opener in Dubai on February 20. After this clash, the Rohit Sharma-led Team India will take on arch-rivals Pakistan on February 23 at the same venue, hoping to take revenge of the 2017 CT finale.
