Indian batting star Virat Kohli opened up about the reasoning behind the name of his UIM E1 World Championship team, Blue Rising. Kohli joined a group of sporting greats like  Rafael Nadal, Tom Brady, Didier Drogba and Sergio Perez in the world’s first all-electric powerboat series.

The UIM E1 World Championship is one of the newest entities in the environmentally responsible motorsports competition with the likes of Formula E and off-road Extreme E. The tournament is scheduled to begin racing next year in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Coming back to the name of Kohli's Team Blue Rising, the Indian batting great talked about how the colour blue is seen on the jerseys of Indian sports teams and hence was the perfect inspiration for the team's name.

Speaking in a video posted on Team Blue Rising's Instagram, Kohli said, "I have played in the blue jersey for such a long period of time. It's something that is literally a part of me, something that I have taken a of pride in wearing that jersey over so many years and it is the colour of the Indian sports teams for so many years and generations now as we know."
