Star Indian batter, Virat Kohli is likely to make his comeback in domestic cricket after 12 years. The 35-year-old has been added in the list of 84-man probable squad for Delhi for Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Along with Kohli, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is also included in the Delhi Ranji Trophy probable squad. Now, there are speculation about whether Virat Kohli will be seen playing for Delhi in the upcoming season of the domestic tournament despite national commitments. Virat Kohli was last seen playing in the Ranji Trophy in November 2012 in a match against Uttar Pradesh.
Other stars of the Indian cricket team including Gautam Gambhir, Virendra Sehwag, Ashish Nehra and Ishant Sharma were also a part of Delhi Ranji team along with Virat Kohli at that time. The right-hander scored 14 and 43 runs respectively and was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in in both the innings. Now, with Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) releasing the list of probable squad for Ranji Trophy 2024-25, Virat Kohli is speculated to make a return in domestic cricket after 12 years.

However, with a busy schedule for the Indian cricket team in the upcoming months, it is unlikely that Virat Kohli will feature for Delhi in the upcoming season of the Ranji Trophy. He is currently a part of the Indian squad for the ongoing Test series against Bangladesh. After that, he is set to feature in three Tests against New Zealand, and five Tests in Australia. Kohli will also be one of the main players of the Indian team for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Talking about his Ranji career, Virat Kohli made his Ranji debut for Delhi at the age of 18 years, in a match against Tamil Nadu on November 23, 2006. The young batter got out after scoring a mere 10 runs in his debut match against Delhi.
Virat Kohli played six matches in his debut Ranji season where he scored 257 runs at an average of 36.71. The right-hander has played a total 23 matches in his Ranji career for Delhi, amassing 1574 runs at an average of 50.77 along with five centuries.
