Th e captains of the charity match between Indian Maharajas and World Giants in the Legends League Cricket have now been disclosed. While India Maharajas will be led by Sachin Tendulkar, World Giants will see Jacques Kallis at the helm of affairs. This fixture will also kick off the LLC second season where the cricketing stars will be back in action on 16 September. 


Earlier, the India Maharajas vs World Giants match was set to feature former India captain and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly as the skipper of the Indian team. But he had to pull out of the match due to personal reasons. 


The information was reported by India Today as they confirmed Ganguly’s decision to withdraw his participation, as he was quoted saying, "Yes I am not playing because of lack of time. I was playing one game only for Charity." This match has been scheduled to celebrate the 75th Independence day of India. 


India Capitals - Gujarat Giants fixture will be the opening game of the tournament on 17 September. The tournament moves to Lucknow from 18 to 21 September. Then the league moves to cities like New Delhi which will be hosting three league stage matches, starting with India Capitals vs Bhilwara Kings on September 22 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium followed by Gujarat Giants and Bhilwara Kings and the clash between the Giants and India Capitals.



The co-founder & CEO, of Legends League Cricket, Raman Raheja talked about how there is an increase in demand for the tournament from the fans which has created a lot of excitement. He said, “There has been huge demand from fans and we have already started feeling the excitement too.
