Liverpool centre-back Virgil Van Dijk expressed uncertainty over his future after manager Jurgen Klopp announced that he would leave his position at the end of the 2023-24 season. The German manager shocked the world as he announced via the Liverpool website that he would step down citing exhaustion.

Virgil Van Dijk spoke to the media after the FA Cup 5-2 win over Norwich City in the fourth round where he was on the scoresheet alongside Curtis Jones, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Ryan Gravenberch. The Dutchman expressed that he isn't sure about his future.
Van Dijk raises uncertainty over his future
He said, “That’s a big question. Well, I don’t know.” The Netherlands captain further expressed a decision will be needed soon. Van Dijk replied: “That is correct – good maths. Listen, I don’t know. The club will have a big job on their hands, that is well known."

Virgil Van Dijk further spoke about the magnitude of bringing in a new manager and that he will be curious about where the management goes next. The Netherlands captain said, "To replace the manager and replace not only the manager, the staff is leaving, and there are so many things that will change."
"So the club has a big job on its hands and I am very curious which direction that will go in. But when that will be announced we will see our situation, I can’t say now," he continued
