It turned out to be a great debut for 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre as Chennai Super Kings face Mumbai Indians in match number 38 of IPL 2025 at Wankhede Stadium. Mhatre was picked by CSK in mid-season after their regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out for the remaining season due to injury.
Now, Ayush Mhatre finally got to make his debut against Mumbai Indians and had an impressive outing in his first-ever game in the cash-rich league. After CSK lost their first wicket at the score of 16 runs in 3.1 overs, Mhatre came to bat at number three and went on to smash a fiery 32 runs off just 15 balls. However his innings couldn’t last long as Deepak Chahar gave MI a second breakthrough in the seventh over. After his knock, Mhatre also got a pat on his back by MI vice-captain Suryakumar Yadav as an appreciation.
