The Sri Lanka cricket team are currently on a tour of Bangladesh for a full-fledged series with the two sides playing the second and final Test of the series which is being played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from March 30 to April 3, 2024.

At the stumps of Day 3, Sri Lanka has taken over the control in the final Test as they lead by 455 runs over the hosts after restricting the Shanto-led side to 178 in their first innings. However, the Bangladesh team ensured that their fans would be entertained throughout the match through their comedic fielding errors.

On Day 3, the home side continued the hilarious on-field moments when almost half of the playing 11 went on to chase and prevent a ball which was heading towards the boundary at the Third Man region. The incident occurred during the fag end of the third day

During the 21st over of the Sri Lankan innings, on the second ball of Hassan’s over, Prabath Jayasuriya had a faint edge to the gully region which even went past the fourth slip. After that, all the fielders in the slip region along with a gully raced towards the ball to prevent the boundary.  All the five players ran in conjunction towards the ball but it was the point fielder who managed to stop the ball before the fence. The incident caught people’s attention as the home side previously too had indulged in the comedic errors in the fielding.

During Sri Lanka’s first innings in the second Test, three Bangladesh fielders combined to take a catch at the slips but it was not to be. It occurred at the point when the visiting team had reached a score of 419/6 after 120.5 overs.
