The England - Sri Lanka fixture has turned into a thrilling affair as the Lankan bowlers brought their team back into the game after some incredible performances. But something outside cricket may have helped the Island nation dismiss English all-rounder Sam Curran.

The commentator's curse has been an enigma often seen in sports which made an appearance at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Indian commentator Aakash Chopra was praising the Surrey all-rounder which was immediately followed by Curran being out at the score of six. Surprisingly, Chopra and fellow commentator Harbhajan Singh were discussing the commentator's curse just moments before the wicket.

But despite this wicket, England still managed to win the game by four wickets.  Ben Stokes remained the anchor for the Three Lions as he remained unbeaten at 42 in 36 balls with two fours. In the post-match interview, England captain Jos Butler expressed that the game came too close in the end as he wished to finish the game far earlier.

He said, "Didn't enjoy that match, how close it was. We just had to find a way to win that game. (On Ben Stokes) These situations are built for him, he can play a lot of roles for us in this T20 setup. They got off to a really good start, and we felt the wicket would play that way since it was a used wicket. But the way Adil Rashid got us back was wonderful. A lot of people look at the end product with him, he doesn't have the wickets but he has been bowling well."
