Legendary South African batter AB de Villiers returned to competetive cricket in the CSA League. The former Protean international made a mark with the bat on his return to the field, hitting a 28-ball century as he featured for Titans Legends. Playing the charity match, his ton came against Bulls Legends.
Speaking of his knock, the 41-year-old hit 15 maximums whereas he did not hit a four as he propelled his side to a dominating win at the SuperSport Park. Known for his strokeplay, De Villiers just faced two dot balls, striking at the rate of 360 in his inning.

De Villiers was joined by his former teammates and white-ball stars Albie Morkel and Chris Morris for the charity match. On the back of the century knock, Titans Legends posted 278/7 in their stipulated 20 overs. However, in the run-chase, the Bulls Legends failed to put up a fight and only managed to get 125/8 in 14 overs before rain came into play.
AB de Villiers to lead South Africa again in WCL 2025
The 41-year-old, who called it quits from international cricket in November 2021, will return to helm but this time for South Africa legends. The Protean will be leding the Game Changers South Africa Champions in the second edition of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, set to start from July 18.
"Four years ago, I retired from all cricket because I just didn't feel the urge to play anymore. Well, time has passed, and my young sons have started playing the game. We've been playing more and more often in the garden, and, well, it feels as though some kind of flame has been lit again. So I am heading back to the gym and the nets, and I'll be ready for WCL in July," the South African legend said in a post shared on his social media handles.
