In the World Champions of Legend (WCL) 2025 game between England Champions and South Africa Champions played in Leicester, the latter side tasted a 10-wicket win. The Protea team witnessed their captain AB de Villiers stepping up and hammering an unbeaten 116 off 51. His knock was studded with 15 fours and seven maximums. Earlier, de Villiers emerged victorious at the toss and invited England Champions to bat first. South Africa Champions exhibited discipline as a bowling unit and contained the English side to a score of 152/6 in 20 overs. Phil Mustard emerged as the highest run-getter for England as the opener amassed 39 off 33.

Wayne Parnell and Imran Tahir picked up two wickets apiece while Duanne Olivier and Chris Morris grabbed one wicket respectively. Following the total, South Africa Champions captain AB de Villiers looked aggressive as an opener and took England Champions’ bowling attack to the cleaners. The legendary batter completed his hundred in just 41 balls and helped his side have complete control over the match. Riding on de Villiers’ scintillating innings, South Africa chased down the target in just 12.2 overs. Hashim Amla also chipped in with his 29 off 25. AB de Villiers’ batting brilliance got him the player of the match (POTM) award.

South Africa Champions at top of the WCL 2025 points tally

This was South Africa Champions’ third consecutive victory in the tournament. With this win, they are at the top of the points tally with six points gained through three off three wins. Following South Africa, Australia Champions are in the second spot with three points earned through one win and a washed-out game.

India Champions are at the bottom of the tally following their loss in the only match they played against South Africa Champions in Northampton on July 22. For the England Champions, it was their third defeat after four outings. England are currently in the fifth spot on the standings.
